This Year Shavuot starts Tuesday Eve May 18, and ends after nightfall on May 20.
is the Day the Torah was given. Shavuot celebrates the monumental encounter
between G-d and the Israelites at Mount Sinai, an event which changed mankind forever.

Today Jews all over the world celebrate Shavuot by "Staying Awake" all night
on the first night of the holiday and studying the Torah individually or in Study Groups.

They also enjoy the Traditional dairy holiday foods which include cheesecake, and other
dairy dishes. It is also customary to decorate the home and synagogue with flowers.
